Rev. Dr. Timothy A. Collazo, Moderator
Dear Pastor and Congregation,
I greet you in the name of Jesus, and in hope that this correspondence finds you all well. We are excited to announce that it is time for us to gather for our annual pastor’s conference. The 43rd Pastors’ Conference will convene at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Rev. Joe T. Leavell, serving as our host pastor. The conference dates are March 11th-12th with session times scheduled for 9:00am, 1:30pm, and 7:00pm.
I am anticipating an enriching, edifying, and spirit-filled conference. The conference theme is “Modeling Christ Like Behavior” (1 Tim 3:15). Our conference preacher is Rev. Dr. C.B. Akins, Pastor Emeritus, First Baptist Church Bracktown, Lexington, KY. With his proven leadership ability and as an avid leader in the community and throughout the state, he has had the opportunity to serve on numerous boards and has served as moderator of the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky. We are extremely excited and looking forward to hearing the Word through this gifted and nationally sought-after preacher.
We have workshops designed for the edification of pastoral leadership as well as the body of Christ that will be facilitated by our very own capable Christian educators. Our workshops have been coordinated by the Dean of our Congress of Christian Education, Rev. Cedric Cheatham, and have been prepared with you in mind.
For our conference we are asking each church to register with $135, each pastor with $50, and each associate minister with $25. On Thursday evening during our final session, we will have our Hopkinsville College of the Bible Rally, and I ask that you be fiscally supportive of our college.
In closing, a registration form and the conference program will be available on our website (firstdistrictofky.org) for your convenience. If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to call me at (270) 498-4561. I am looking forward to seeing you all as we collectively continue to “Move Forward While Being Forged in Our Faith”.
Your servant in Christ,
Rev. Dr. Timothy A. Collazo
