First District,
I greet you in the matchless name of Jesus the Christ. I am certainly excited and humbled that you have chosen and entrusted me to serve as your moderator. As I come into this office, I am standing on the shoulders of the past moderators that have laid a firm foundation down through the years with God’s guidance.
As we move forward together, it is my prayer that we build upon that foundation and go higher. I believe with all my heart that the First District is one of the best in the state; and the future is brighter than ever. However, if we’re going to do greater things, I encourage us to progress towards our predestined future without compromising the truths and valued traditions of our past.
By:
1. Making God Our First Priority (Matthew 6:33)
2. Maintaining Biblical Truths and Teachings (2 Thessalonians 2:15)
3. Modeling Christ-Like Behavior (1 Timothy 3:15)
4. Making Disciples of Men (Matthew 28:19-20)
These core four disciplines are vital to our contribution in Kingdom work, and are essential if we are to "Move Forward". I believe wholeheartedly that God has great things yet to come for this district. However, it is imperative that we are open and sensitive to the seasons of transformation and transitioning by God.
In closing, I believe as we work together through clear and constant communication with God and one another, we can accomplish all He desires for this district and collectively make a greater impact for His glory.
For Ephesians 4:13-16 reminds us:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
